Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at West Hills North Veterinary Clinic. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their owners.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Veterinarians: Collaborate with our veterinarians to perform examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures, ensuring the highest level of care and compassion for our patients.
  • Medical Support: Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, and microbiology, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of our patients.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by our veterinarians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Medical Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and providing a clear understanding of patient care.
  • Patient Education: Educate pet owners on preventive care, medication administration, and post-operative instructions, promoting a strong partnership between our clinic and our clients.
  • Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients during anesthesia and recovery, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Animal Handling: Handle and restrain animals with care and compassion, minimizing stress and ensuring a smooth experience for both patients and staff.
  • Clinic Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of treatment areas and equipment, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Patient Admission/Discharge: Assist with the admission and discharge of patients, ensuring a seamless transition and excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: Completion of a two-year or four-year American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited program from a community college, college, or university.
  • Certification: License certification as required in NYS.
  • Experience: Externship experience preferred.
