OVERVIEW

This is a seasonal role with a stipend, where you will collaborate with the head coach to realize the program's vision and foster a positive culture. Your responsibilities will include mentoring student-athletes to enhance their skills, discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork in the sport of water polo. Upholding the core values of Authenticity, Respect, Courage, and Commitment as established by the Diocese of Orlando is crucial.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee and coordinate athletic events, competitions, and training sessions.
  • Employ diverse teaching methods to improve student-athletes' performance.
  • Assist in formulating team tactics and strategies.
  • Enforce discipline among students and encourage sportsmanlike behavior.
  • Ensure the safety of student-athletes and the integrity of equipment.
  • Maintain and care for program gear and uniforms.
  • Represent the institution and the Water Polo program with professionalism.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to refine coaching skills.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enthusiastic, driven, and dedicated individual.
  • Thorough understanding of the sport and its regulations.
  • Ability to effectively instruct and oversee student-athletes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to act as a positive role model for all participants.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Primarily an indoor setting with controlled environmental conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting, lifting, walking, bending, and engaging in various physical activities. Visual acuity and motor skills are also essential.
