Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Benhaven Inc. as a Respite Center Overnight Awake staff member. In this role, you will provide support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build Rapport and Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with respite guests and their families to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Implement Activity Schedules: Develop and implement flexible activity schedules and opportunities to promote socialization, skill-building, and personal growth.
  • Facilitate Friendships: Encourage and facilitate friendships among respite guests to promote socialization and community building.
  • Ensure Safety and Well-being: Ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals in the respite center, including assisting with activities of daily living and implementing positive behavioral approaches.
  • Complete Reports and Documentation: Accurately complete required reports and documentation, including incident reports and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with respite center staff and management to maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • Certifications and Training: Must be able to obtain and maintain required certifications and training, including Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Medication Certification.
  • Valid Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
