Job Summary

The Research Scientist will work under minimal supervision and will be responsible for performing complex and difficult tasks and assignments. The successful candidate will have a strong background in life or physical sciences, with experience in clinical diagnostic assay development, cancer genomics, and/or comprehensive genomic profiling. The Research Scientist will also serve as the Project Manager for assigned clinical research activities, supervising project deliverables, managing sample and data collection, and analyzing and presenting data to the management team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement complex research projects, including assay development and validation
  • Lead project design and feasibility studies, and manage project timelines
  • Supervise laboratory technologists and associates in performing research experiments
  • Analyze and present data to the management team, and write validation reports of new tests
  • Ensure compliance with CAP/CLIA requirements and specialty requirements
  • Drive all aspects of the project management process, from initiation to closure
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in a life or physical science, or M.D. preferred
  • 3+ years of related laboratory experience in clinical diagnostic assay development, cancer genomics, and/or comprehensive genomic profiling
  • Experience with CLIA/CAP Molecular Assay validation and reimbursement submission, including MolDx
  • Solid understanding of laboratory techniques and ability to develop and deliver complex scientific project plans
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, and ability to use software tools to produce high-impact presentations of data

NeoGenomics offers a competitive salary range of $104,085 to $179,546 annually, plus bonus.
