Laboratory Director

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Director to lead our laboratory team.

The Laboratory Director will be responsible for the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, regulations, and professional standards. This includes CLIA regulations, quality assessment measures, and proficiency testing programs.

• Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures to provide consistent, high-quality testing services.
• Ensure the laboratory is enrolled and participates in an HHS-approved proficiency testing program.
• Oversee the laboratory's testing systems, ensuring they provide quality laboratory services for all aspects of test performance.
• Ensure the laboratory's physical and environmental conditions are adequate and appropriate for the testing performed.
• Supervise laboratory personnel, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
• Ensure the laboratory's environment is safe from physical, chemical, and biological hazards.

• Must be qualified to manage and direct the laboratory personnel and performance of high complexity tests.
• Must be eligible to be an operator of a laboratory within the requirements of CLIA regulations.
• Must possess a current license as a laboratory director issued by the State of Vermont.
• Excellent complex problem-solving skills, demonstrated working knowledge and competency within a laboratory environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload, with superb attention to detail.
• Ability to handle discreet, confidential information.

• Must be able to move throughout the agency independently or with minimal assistance.
• Must have sufficient visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and other text formats.
• Must be able to work in a stressful, fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The range of pay for this position is $54.36/hr - $85.86/hr based on years of experience.
