Job Title: Laboratory Director

Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Director to lead our laboratory team. This is a part-time, 2 hours/week, hybrid remote position based in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont, with occasional travel to our Barre, VT lab.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the overall operation and administration of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Develop and implement policies, processes, and procedures to provide consistent, high-quality testing services.
  • Ensure the laboratory is enrolled and participates in an HHS-approved proficiency testing program.
  • Lead the laboratory team in providing accurate, reliable, and timely patient test results.
  • Ensure the laboratory's physical and environmental conditions are adequate and appropriate for testing.
  • Develop and maintain a quality system approach to laboratory services.
Qualifications:
  • Must be qualified to manage and direct laboratory personnel and performance of high complexity tests.
  • Must possess a current license as a laboratory director issued by the State of Vermont.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with demonstrated working knowledge and competency within a laboratory environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to provide quality services to meet individual customer needs.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload, with superb attention to detail and ability to follow processes and procedures.
Physical Qualifications:
  • Ability to move throughout the agency independently or with minimal assistance.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and other text formats.
  • Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Compensation:

The range of pay for this position is $54.36/hr - $85.86/hr based on years of experience.
