Unlocking the Secrets of the US Economy

We are seeking a seasoned Economist Specialist to join our team in the United States. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in economic trends and impacts to drive business growth.

About the Role

This is a full-time position responsible for producing high-quality market intelligence reports, supporting the delivery of our annual International Construction Market Survey, and building Turner & Townsend's brand presence in the US market through media interviews and externally facing insight articles.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in economics and/or consultancy, preferably in the US. Prior experience advising corporations on economic trends is highly desirable. Strong programming skills, particularly with STATA, R, and E-Views, as well as proficiency in visual analytics software like Tableau and Microsoft Power BI, are required.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Produce Turner & Townsend's US market intelligence reports, covering content creation, design support, and project management.
  2. Support the delivery of Turner & Townsend's annual International Construction Market Survey, overseeing data collation, quality assurance, and content review.
  3. Engage with journalists, undertake media interviews, and create insightful articles to enhance Turner & Townsend's reputation in the US market.
  4. Deliver engaging presentations and webinars to global key accounts and at external events, effectively communicating complex economic concepts.
  5. Conduct fee-earning work, including forecasting, benchmarking, and sector/country market reports, to maintain existing outputs, generate new opportunities, and enhance service offerings.
  6. Foster collaboration with the US Cost Management division, providing construction economic information and research as needed.
  7. Maintain an extensive database of external and proprietary statistical data, ensuring processes are compliant and generating dashboard reports with collated data.
  8. Cultivate knowledge of relevant analysis and data sources, developing online libraries of construction intelligence reports.
  9. Predict and communicate US economic forecasts for GDP, Construction Spending, Labor Force data, and other critical variables influencing the US construction industry and economy.
What We Offer

A competitive salary range of $155,000 - $185,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
