City Dispatcher Position

The City of Weslaco is seeking a highly motivated City Dispatcher to join our team. As a key member of our public safety department, you will be responsible for receiving emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching police, fire, and EMS units, and maintaining accurate records.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Dispatches police, fire, and EMS units in accordance with Communication Center protocol and regulations.
  • Ensures that current date is entered into the Communication Center's computer system.
  • Maintains various department logs as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Up to one (1) to three (3) years of related work experience.
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver License and be insurable.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Applicant must pass pre-employment drug testing, references, background checks, and credential verification.
Salary and Benefits Package

$55,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
