Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Shear Operations: Supervise and coordinate the activities of shear operators, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure Quality Standards: Ensure that shear operations are performed in accordance with established quality standards, including inspecting parts for defects.
  • Monitor Production Schedules: Monitor production schedules and adjust staffing levels as needed to meet production targets.
  • Coordinate with Other Departments: Coordinate with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired.
  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures, including conducting regular safety audits and providing training to staff as needed.

  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate records of production activity, including production rates, downtime, and materials usage.

  • Unload Incoming Materials: Unload incoming materials from trucks.

  • Ensure Compliance with Industry Standards: Ensure that all AS9100D and ISO13485 standard requirements are followed.
  • Perform Activities of Workers Supervised: Perform activities of workers supervised.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Degree from two-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certifications: Forklift and crane certificate required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to employees and managers. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; plus, stoop, crouch, and kneel.
  • Occasional Requirements: The employee is occasionally required to talk or listen.
  • Lifting and Moving: The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
