About the Role
We are seeking a Quality Control Specialist I to join our team at the Public Health Institute. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and processing data into the California Cancer Registry statewide database. This is a high productivity position that requires accuracy and timeliness. You must be able to work independently and meet productivity goals. The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital, regional or central cancer registry, and be credentialed by the National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) as an Oncology Data Specialist (ODS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process data into the California Cancer Registry statewide database.
  • Work independently and meet productivity goals.
  • Maintain high levels of accuracy when performing tasks.
  • Abstracts Physician Only, Path Only, Death Certificate Only, Nursing Home Only and Coroner's cases.
  • Abstracts for assigned contracted reporting facilities.
