Vascular Sonographer

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team at Atlantic Health System. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment in the application of non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnosis of disease.

• Consults patients' previous history with referring physician, finalizing the appropriate ultrasonic procedure that is required.
• Monitors patient condition, recognizes changes and/or motor abnormality complaints by the patient, and promptly reports to the physician.
• Performs minor repairs, frequent calibration checks, and adjusts ultrasound equipment when necessary.
• Prepares patient for examination, performs ultrasound procedures, and directly observes the and monitors the patient during the entire process.
• Explains the procedure in easy-to-understand terms based on professional knowledge to relieve patients of pre-testing anxiety.
• Sets-up equipment to administer procedures in a timely fashion.
• Ensures that proper views and images have been obtained, appropriate techniques have been employed, and determines the need for more extensive evaluations beyond preliminary instructions.
• Obtains pertinent radiological and diagnostic exam reports for the physician necessary for correlation with the ultrasound scan being performed.
• Correlates clinical history to ascertain that the appropriate procedure is performed.
• Maintains records and logs exams performed.
• Maintains control of inventory and purchases of supplies for the assigned area.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program International (CCI).
• Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 cases in echocardiography or relevant area.
• Experience working with pertinent medical/surgical disease and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics, and diagnostic ultrasound.
• Registration in a specific medical sonography specialty with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association (AHA).
