Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Vascular Sonographer to join our team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of technical procedures using non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves to diagnose disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with patients' previous history and referring physicians to determine the appropriate ultrasonic procedure.
  • Monitor patient condition, recognize changes, and report to the physician as needed.
  • Perform minor repairs, calibration checks, and adjustments to ultrasound equipment.
  • Prepare patients for examination, perform ultrasound procedures, and monitor patients during the process.
  • Explain procedures in easy-to-understand terms to alleviate patient anxiety.
  • Set up equipment to administer procedures in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper views and images are obtained, and determine the need for further evaluations.
  • Obtain radiological and diagnostic exam reports for correlation with ultrasound scans.
  • Correlate clinical history to ensure appropriate procedures are performed.
  • Maintain records and logs of exams performed.
  • Maintain control of inventory and purchases of supplies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical sonography program.
  • Experience documented by institutional referral with a minimum of 200 cases in echocardiography or relevant area.
  • Experience working with pertinent medical/surgical disease and knowledge of anatomy, physiology, physics, and diagnostic ultrasound.
  • Registration in a specific medical sonography specialty with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
