Communications Specialist

Job Summary:This position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented Speech-Language Pathologist to work with pediatric patients, assessing speech and language disorders comprehensively. You will be responsible for diagnosing communication issues through clinical evaluations and diagnostic tests, creating personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs, and delivering therapy to enhance articulation, fluency, voice, comprehension, and expression. Additionally, you will address swallowing disorders, provide guidance on augmentative and alternative communication devices, educate patients and families on strategies for improved communication, and maintain accurate patient records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess speech and language disorders in pediatric patients using comprehensive evaluation methods.
- Diagnose the type and severity of communication issues through clinical assessments and diagnostic testing.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that cater to each patient's unique needs and goals.
- Deliver evidence-based therapy sessions to enhance communication skills, including articulation, fluency, voice, comprehension, and expression.
- Address swallowing disorders and promote safe swallowing practices among pediatric patients.
- Provide guidance on the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices as necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on effective communication strategies and exercises to support daily life, school, or work activities.
- Maintain precise and up-to-date patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, therapists, and educators, to ensure holistic patient care.
Requirements:
- A valid and active Speech-Language Pathologist State license.
Salary & Benefits:We are offering a competitive salary for this position. Based on industry standards and the location, we estimate the salary to be approximately $2,648 per 40-hour week for travel assignments and $2,608 per 40-hour week for local assignments. Additional benefits may include professional development opportunities, health insurance, and paid time off.
