Building Systems Engineer

Position Summary
- The Facilities Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Facilities team under the supervision of the Chief and Assistant Chief Engineer. This position involves managing day-to-day operations, responding to service calls, conducting equipment repairs, performing inspections, and executing preventative maintenance tasks as assigned. Adherence to safety protocols and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to guests and fellow team members.
- Oversee prompt repairs, installations, and maintenance of various systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, and chillers.
- Accurately read and interpret meters, gauges, and testing instruments to identify issues and determine repair strategies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all repairs and preventative maintenance activities.
- Engage in technical projects related to electrical and mechanical equipment repairs and other assigned tasks.
- Manage landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
- Execute carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and masonry repairs as needed.
- Utilize technical knowledge in construction and maintenance work, employing cost-estimating methods.
- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, including OSHA standards.
- Adhere to Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS).
- Project a positive image of the organization to guests and vendors, providing assistance as required.
- Participate in safety meetings and training as a condition of employment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance and operations.
- Proficient in at least four disciplines such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and landscaping.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including prolonged standing, walking, bending, and climbing ladders.
Qualifications and Experience
- At least three years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Familiarity with boom lifts and scissor lifts is essential.
- Certification for forklift or other heavy equipment must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
- Experience with hand and power tools is required.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with tenants, team members, and vendors.
- Availability for emergency call-ins and potential weekend or overnight shifts.
- Demonstrated good judgment and customer service skills.
- Team-oriented attitude is essential.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional Information
