Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations, including pure tone air and bone conduction audiometry, speech reception threshold, and speech discrimination.
  • Perform tympanometry, acoustic reflex threshold testing, and reflex decay testing.
  • Conduct brainstem auditory evoked response (BAER) testing to identify hearing loss and rule out retrocochlear pathology.
  • Administer infant hearing screening using the BAER screener and/or otoacoustic emissions.
  • Conduct electronystagmography and industrial audiometry, including on-site sound level measurement as needed.
  • Interpret test results and communicate findings to patients, family members, physicians, and other agencies as appropriate.
  • Recommend further testing, medical follow-up, or rehabilitation based on test results.
  • Counsel patients on rehabilitation and habilitation options.
  • Provide hearing aid services, including comparative evaluation, probe tube assessment, hearing aid delivery and orientation, follow-up, and maintenance.
  • Refer patients to other services within SLH or outside agencies as needed.
Requirements:
  • Master's or doctorate degree in audiology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) in audiology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (desired).
  • Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey license in audiology.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
