Vaco is seeking a talented Indirect Procurement Category Manager for our Americas Region (Canada, Mexico, USA). This role is pivotal in crafting and implementing sourcing strategies for the Capital materials and services category, which encompasses new and used equipment, service agreements, spare parts, facility maintenance and enhancements, as well as IT equipment and services. We are looking for a proactive and results-oriented individual who is passionate about delivering optimal value for investment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Formulate and implement diverse sourcing strategies to enhance procurement reach across the Americas, ensuring a competitive edge and sustainable improvements in cost, quality, service, and innovation.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, including strategy formulation, supplier negotiations, award recommendations, business case presentations, risk management, and contract finalization.
  • Conduct total cost of ownership assessments and supply market analysis, along with pricing audits and impact evaluations to drive continuous cost reductions.
  • Establish and maintain vendor performance scorecards focused on quality, value, performance, and customer service.
  • Identify and address strategic supplier performance challenges to guarantee customer satisfaction.
  • Possess a degree in industrial, supply chain, or engineering disciplines.
  • Bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in indirect procurement of materials and services.
  • Professional certifications are preferred (e.g., CPM, APICS, CPSM, CIPS, 6Sigma).
  • Demonstrate significant category expertise in sourcing, contracting, implementation, and project management within a Fortune 500 company, consultancy, or large service industry.
  • Have knowledge of current and relevant contract language and regulatory standards.
  • Exhibit proven experience in designing and executing sourcing strategies that yield measurable cost savings.
  • Be an expert negotiator and influencer with experience in multi-site implementations.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills for effective communication, networking, and influence across the organization.
  • Be highly numerate with advanced proficiency in Excel and managing extensive databases.
  • Approach problem-solving with creativity.
  • Be enthusiastic about innovation and new opportunities, demonstrating strategic thinking and a self-starting attitude to initiate, plan, and achieve results.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, utilizing initiative and autonomy.
