About the PositionThe successful candidate will have a deep passion for delivering high-quality patient-centered care, combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. As a key member of the educational staff, the School Nurse will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure students receive optimal support for their physical and emotional well-being.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or School Nursing from a regionally-accredited college or university, along with relevant experience working with pediatric populations. A registered professional nurse (R.N.) designation, current licensure in the state of Delaware, and certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) are also essential requirements.
The selected candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care and health education to students in a school setting, collaborating with teachers and administrators to ensure comprehensive student care, maintaining accurate records of student health information, developing and implementing individualized health plans for students with special needs, and participating in school health-related committees and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality nursing care and health education to students in a school setting.
- Build effective relationships with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive student care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of student health information.
- Participate in school health-related committees and initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or School Nursing from a regionally-accredited college or university.
- Minimum three years of supervised clinical nursing experience, preferably working with pediatric populations.
- Current licensure as a registered professional nurse (R.N.) in the state of Delaware.
- Certification in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- State of Delaware requirements for School Nurses, including CEUs and adherence to regulations.
