Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a Clinical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of patient samples.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and prepare patient samples for testing, ensuring correct identification and integrity.
  • Perform waived and moderate complexity testing under direct supervision, meeting performance standards and knowledge level.
  • Track and locate missing specimens, monitoring pending lists and performing maintenance activities on laboratory equipment.
  • Participate in quality control, troubleshooting, and communication with technical staff to ensure accurate results.
  • Assist with inventory management and contribute to department initiatives to reduce costs and improve service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 18 years or older if performing phlebotomy.
  • Progression through career ladder II-IV subject to completion of career ladder requirements.
  • Position may require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Valid state driver's license and eligibility for company auto insurance policy.
  • Phlebotomy/CLA certification as defined by state regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous clinical laboratory experience.
  • Successful completion of a laboratory assistant program.
  • Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and handling.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
