Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our Platform Sustainment team at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading engineering staff in developing processes for the implementation of the Defense Priorities and Allocation System (DPAS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a process for investigating, analyzing, identifying, and recording DPAS data fields into a database.
  • Support the operation of engineering systems and document any problems that arise.
  • Devises new approaches to resolve complex engineering problems and troubleshoot conflicting design/development requirements.
  • Provides documentation and makes technical presentations as required.
  • May represent the organization as the prime technical contact on small contracts or single component projects.
  • Provides direction to design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of sensitive information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Progressive engineering experience, with a minimum of six years of experience with a bachelor's degree, four years with a master's degree, or two years with a PhD.
  • Thorough understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory.
  • Ability to develop and communicate new concepts, apply them accurately, and organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases.
  • Strong communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to perform complex tasks in one or more engineering areas.
  • Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and leading a team of moderately experienced professional employees.
  • Able to work extended hours as required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Original work published in professional engineering journals.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Windchill, and process development.
