We are seeking a highly skilled Survivability Engineer to join our team at Serco North America. As a key member of our Maritime Engineering Operation, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of naval systems and ensuring the safety of our waters.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct detailed analysis and assessments of ship survivability features and systems.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance ship survivability against various threats, including ballistic, blast, and underwater threats.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to integrate survivability solutions into new ship designs and retrofit existing vessels.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and survivability testing, including live fire and simulated scenarios.
- Analyze damage control capabilities and recommend improvements to shipboard systems and procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support during ship construction, repair, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on survivability assessments, test results, and improvement recommendations.
- Stay current with advancements in survivability technology and incorporate best practices into the organization's processes.
- An Active Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in ship survivability.
- Strong knowledge of ship design principles, materials science, and engineering practices related to survivability.
- Experience with survivability analysis tools and software.
- Proven ability to conduct vulnerability assessments and survivability testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional projects.
- Ability to travel 10%
