Shifts Available:
We provide competitive shift differentials for both first and second shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Structural Assembly Technician, you will:
- Fit and assemble structural frameworks, components, and materials in diverse shapes and sizes, ensuring compliance with our corporate mission and departmental financial goals.
- Layout, position, align, and fit together fabricated parts of structural components according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Operate cutting and heating tools effectively.
- Verify camber and sweep tolerances of girders and beams, making necessary adjustments as per relevant codes and specifications.
- Tack weld in various positions using multiple welding techniques.
- Grind parts, torque bolts, and utilize both mechanical and manual cutting equipment.
- Produce high-quality finished products that meet recognized standards and customer expectations by adhering to quality procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas and equipment.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
- Assist in training and mentoring fellow employees.
- Work in a safe, professional, and conscientious manner.
- Foster a positive work environment through effective communication and professionalism with colleagues and supervisors.
- Understand and apply welding procedures and interpret weld symbols on technical drawings.
- Read and comprehend complex technical drawings and apply the information accordingly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Relevant experience and/or training or a combination of education and experience.
- Exceptional reading and mathematical skills are essential.
Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods, with occasional walking and sitting. Employees must perform a variety of physical tasks, including:
- Pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying heavy objects (up to 60 lbs).
- Climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending, and handling materials.
- Repetitive motions and maintaining awkward body positions.
Vision Requirements:
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus are necessary for this position.
Safety Considerations:
This is a safety-sensitive position, where responsibilities impact the health and safety of oneself and others.
