Position Overview
Abacus Technology Corporation is in search of a Senior Cyber Security Analyst to strategize and execute protective measures for IT infrastructures within the Department of Energy's Office of Environment, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS). This role is a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the enhancement of the DoE EHSS security framework.
- Safeguard network systems and IT assets against cyber threats.
- Address and manage security incidents.
- Diagnose, analyze, formulate, document, and assist in executing remediation strategies.
- Stay updated on evolving threats and advanced security tools.
Required Qualifications
Over 10 years of experience in information and cyber security. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. Possession of security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM, or similar is advantageous. Proven experience in strategizing, coordinating, and enforcing security protocols to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems and their data. Familiarity with access control mechanisms to manage access to digital data files and avert unauthorized alterations, destruction, or exposure of information. Demonstrated expertise in crafting, monitoring, and evaluating cyber security strategies and controls utilizing government-sanctioned tools and methodologies. Experience in documenting testing outcomes, proposing corrective measures, and formulating and documenting residual risk and risk assessment reports. Knowledge of implementing NIST SP 800-53, CNSS controls, DISA STIGs, or CIS Benchmarks, along with Continuous Diagnostic and Monitoring programs, and FIPS 199. Extensive understanding and experience in adhering to Federal regulations (e.g., FISMA, Privacy Act, Federal Records Act), OMB mandates, NIST publications, CNSS guidelines, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), and agency directives on cybersecurity. Exceptional technical writing, analytical thinking, and communication skills, both oral and written. Strong customer service aptitude. Must be a U.S. citizen and possess a current DoD Top Secret or DoE Q clearance.
Selected candidates will undergo a U.S. government security evaluation and must fulfill eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
