Job Highlights

Epic Travel Staffing is hiring a Travel RN - Cardiac Intensive Care

Shift Details : Flexible or consistent night shifts, 12x4, 48 hours weekly, with options for 36-hour shifts

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Weekend shifts required: 6 shifts within a 4-week schedule, with specific combinations for night and day shifts.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California RN License
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Cardiac Intensive Care
  • Pediatric Cardiac experience required
  • Must possess cardiac training
  • Experience with heart transplant patients
  • Proficient in managing ventilators, multiple monitoring systems, and EKG interpretation
  • BCLS Certification
  • PALS Certification
Candidates should be open to floating between units.
**RN must have a valid California license or a pending application with expected posting dates.**
Required qualifications include:
• California RN License
• 2+ years of experience in Cardiac Intensive Care
• Pediatric Cardiac experience - must be cardiac trained
• Heart transplant experience
• Willingness to float between units
• BLS and PALS certifications
• Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation
Travelers may be floated to various units excluding OR, PACU, and ED. Units include PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, and more.
Shifts discussed during the interview process:
• 3x12 variable or consistent night shifts, with options for 36 or 48 hours
• Weekend Requirements: 6 shifts within a 4-week schedule, specific combinations for night and day shifts.
• 13-week contracts
Requested Time Off: 6 days total (must still complete 3 shifts in a week). Availability for holidays is required. Self-scheduling is available.
Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:1-2
Unit Overview: 30-37 beds, caring for post-operative cardiac surgical patients, complex congenital conditions, acquired heart diseases, heart transplants, VADs, and ECMO. Functions at the standard level of nursing practice. Patient age ranges from neonatal to 23 years.
Flu shot is mandatory.
