We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Forensics Senior Associate to join our Forensic Technology Services team at Alvarez & Marsal. As a key member of our team, you will lead a team of consultants to enable our external clients and internal teams to leverage forensic data technologies to uncover and manage data-based evidence and intelligence in contentious legal and regulatory situations.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in the full lifecycle of forensic data collection, processing, analysis, and preservation.
- Lead a team of consultants, managing all aspects of onsite data collection.
- Participate in the collection, pre-processing, capture, and preparation of images and other forensic data artifacts.
- Maintain data and documentation according to prescribed chain of custody protocol.
- Perform data extraction and conversion to migrate data to a review environment.
- Process and support images and data once in review environment.
- Analyze artifacts to trace user activity, including file manipulation, USB activity, browser history, chat analysis, cloud activity, cryptocurrency transactions, and more.
- Plan and manage onsite data and evidence collection activities.
- Build relationships and reputation through excellent stakeholder management.
- Communicate technical processes and findings clearly and precisely to clients and colleagues, including writing reports on forensic data analysis.

Our Forensic Technology team consists of senior forensic technologists, data analytics, cybersecurity, and privacy experts, lawyers, and investigators from various backgrounds who bring and share their extensive expertise in conducting investigations, delivering expert witness reports, and providing forensic technology services.

Requirements- Minimum 3-6 years' experience in the field of digital forensics in a client-facing, professional service setting.
- Extensive experience with scoping and performing on-site and remote forensic preservations of unstructured and structured data sources.
- Extensive experience in forensic tool suites, including OpenText EnCase, Cellebrite UFED4PC, Physical Analyzer, and Endpoint Inspector, Magnet Forensics Axiom.
- Sound technical understanding of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and best practices in forensic collection, analysis, and review.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills when working with both clients and internal technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and collect, organize, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and uncertain environment.
- An excellent academic record and a BS, BBA, or BA degree from an accredited university with a degree focused in a technical and/or analytical field.
- Flexibility to travel approximately 20-40% of the time.
- Training and certifications from industry organizations or vendors, and/or other relevant professional certifications.
- Quantitative skills, including experience with SAS, Stata, Python, R, Power BI, or SQL, preferred.
