Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.
  • Assist the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while maintaining high-quality merchandise.
  • Learn and master all aspects of managing the Restaurant department, including inventory, security, and expense control.
  • Conduct and facilitate department meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure all new department associates receive proper training and review of job descriptions, goals, and objectives.
  • Administer discipline fairly and consistently to promote high associate morale.
  • Assist the department manager with ordering, receiving, and storing deliveries, as well as preparing product for display and sale.
  • Maintain accurate records and respond timely to all location mail, reports, and records.
  • Monitor cooler and display area temperatures to ensure product quality and report refrigeration failure immediately.
  • Offer product samples, answer product questions, and provide assistance in finding or suggesting product selection.
  • Prepare special orders requested by customers and minimize department expenses without compromising customer service level.
  • Delegate and use initiative, ingenuity, and good judgment to act on opportunities and solve problems.
  • Ensure sales and work areas are swept clean, orderly, and free from safety hazards, and report hazards to management.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Successful experience in the deli/seafood operation, including merchandising, ordering, inventorying, and pricing.
  • Knowledgeable and familiar with the duties of every position in the Cold Deli department, including procedures, policies, and operations.
  • Ability to display initiative and work with limited supervision.
Working Conditions

The working environment involves an inside store environment with potential exposure to cold conditions. Varied and irregular schedules may be required.
