About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at Oliver Inc. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in determining the most economical layout for projects based on available equipment, gathering information, and analyzing important metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review estimate requests, checking specs and other determinants, and contact appropriate personnel to obtain missing information or clarify requests.
  • Obtain paper prices for unusual stock and suggest possible alternatives.
  • Advise sales and production of any possible problems.
  • Prepare estimates by utilizing pertinent information from the system, including description and quantity, paper size, stock, appropriate press, outsourcing requirements, etc.
  • Review preliminary estimates for correct pricing and adjust as necessary.
  • Enter estimating information into summary sheets and generate output of quote types and provide final estimates to the Sales Department.
  • Maintain familiarity with commercial and carton packaging and review and analyze documentation for completeness to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Regularly interact with design, graphics, customer service, sales, and manufacturing departments to interpret and ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Provide special instructions to vendors and internal departments as needed.
  • Review new or complex work with manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and ability to learn new computer systems (ERP and Layouts).
  • Familiarity with cost analysis and project management principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
  • Proficient math ability with an analytical mindset.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to calculate area, circumference, and volume and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, planning, and scheduling policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Printing, Packaging, and all facets of Binding/Finishing is a plus.
  • A degree in Business, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Inventory Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
