Key Responsibilities:- Perform echocardiograms using state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, ensuring high-quality imaging and accurate diagnostic results.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare providers to assess patient needs, develop imaging protocols, and determine optimal imaging techniques.
- Maintain proficiency in echocardiography techniques, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms, as well as Doppler and color flow imaging.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Adhere to established protocols and guidelines for image acquisition, documentation, and reporting, maintaining accurate patient records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, including equipment maintenance, image quality assessment, and ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Educate patients and their families about the echocardiography procedure, answering questions and providing support as needed to promote understanding and cooperation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, communicate imaging findings, and contribute to comprehensive treatment plans.
- Stay informed about advancements in cardiovascular imaging technology and techniques, incorporating new developments into practice to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with patients, families, and colleagues, fostering a positive and supportive environment within the healthcare team.
- Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) credential through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- California state licensure as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS).
- Minimum of two years of experience in cardiovascular sonography preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
