Accounts Payable Specialist I Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist I to join our Finance Department in Fargo. In this role, you will be responsible for the reporting and processing of all outgoing payments for Aldevron.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand and follow the accounts payable process, including general ledger coding, accruals, prepaid policies, CapEx policies, and 1099 reporting.
  • Ensure that all bills are approved according to the Approval Authority Matrix based on manager level, amount, and type of purchase.
  • Coordinate with the tax department to ensure sales and use tax is assessed appropriately on vendor transactions based on tax rules for applicable jurisdictions.
  • Assist with maintenance and reconciliation of various ledgers, reports, and account records.
  • Prepare for and assist with financial audit fieldwork requests.
  • Post transactions to the accounts payable system, verify, correct, and balance accounts payable system, generate payments, validate payments, match payments to vouchers, process payments to vendors, and review statements for accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

  • High school degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years of relevant working experience.
  • Ability to perform a variety of general clerical duties, including filing, mail sorting, and scanning.
  • Previous experience in a financial discipline is a plus.
