Position Summary:

We are seeking a proficient Optimization Engineer to contribute to our projects. The selected candidate will collaborate with Product Owners, Development Teams, Architecture Teams, and Infrastructure Teams to assess and interpret non-functional requirements related to complex scheduling optimization, planning, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with business stakeholders to comprehend their needs and provide insights for crafting a product vision focused on optimization and automation.
  • Design, execute, and enhance scheduling optimization models utilizing Timefold within a workforce management framework.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with Timefold regarding technical applications.
  • Educate developers on modeling and resolving optimization challenges.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on optimization models and their application in scheduling.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to deploy models that address business challenges.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in modeling and addressing intricate optimization and planning issues using TimeFold or similar optimization solvers.

Essential Skills:

  • Strong foundation in operations research or management science.
  • Familiarity with scheduling algorithms or combinatorial optimization issues.
  • Ability to articulate and clarify optimization methods and principles to both novices and experts.
  • Effective team collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in software development using programming languages such as Java or Python.
  • Knowledge of metaheuristics.
  • Experience with solvers like Gurobi, Optaplanner/Timefold, CPlex, Fico Xpress, or modeling languages such as GAMS or AMPL.
  • Industry experience in scheduling or workforce management.
  • Experience in collaborative software development environments.
