We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our Orthopedic and Spine unit at Ridges Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Assist professional nurses in delivering patient care, including transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering and stocking supplies.
- Provide basic patient care, including personal grooming, bathing, toileting, feeding, skin care, and oral hygiene.
- Accurately take and record weights, input/output, blood pressure, temperature, pulse rates, respiration, and oxygen levels.
- Report unusual findings to the RN in a timely manner.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients and their families.
- Transport patients, equipment, specimens, and supplies.
- Ensure patients get to appointments on time.
- Use transfer belts when assisting patients with transfers and set up and maintain rooms and equipment.
- Order and stock supplies.
- Accurately document tasks performed on appropriate forms.
- Successful completion of Fairview's OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview-sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
- Or six months of recent direct care experience in a long-term, home care, or acute care setting.
- Or current enrollment in an LPN, RN, or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one semester of clinical rotation within the program.
- Or current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required.
