Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Per Diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at SUNY Upstate Medical University. As a Per Diem Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our physicians to examine patients, compile medical data, administer or order diagnostic tests, and interpret test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triaging, examining, diagnosing, and treating patients during regular office hours, evenings, and weekends
  • Assisting physicians in all aspects of patient care, including examining patients, compiling medical data, administering or ordering diagnostic tests, and interpreting test results
  • Performing therapeutic duties such as injections, wound care, immunizations, and managing infection
  • Working closely with our physicians to provide comprehensive patient care

Requirements:

  • NYS licensed/registered NP or PA required (NYS NP specialty area of certification must be consistent with practice)
  • NPI number and Medicare Enrollment with Medicare Identification Number (or PTAN) OR eligibility for Medicare Enrollment within 6 months of hire
  • Initial certification must be present or obtained within 6 months of hire
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Work Environment:

Per Diem - varies

Salary Information:

The salary range for this position is $92,000 - $147,004, based on full-time, 1.0 FTE, and would be prorated accordingly for less than 1.0 FTE.
