Behavioral Health Therapist for Children

La Rabida Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Therapist for Children to join our multidisciplinary team in Chicago, IL.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a full-time Behavioral Health Therapist for Children to work in our integrated behavioral health primary care medical clinics as well as provide outpatient therapy. The ideal candidate will have experience providing therapy to children and working on a multidisciplinary team.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide behavioral health services to patients and their families, including individual, family, and group therapy
  • Provide behavioral health consultation services
  • Provide short and long-term outpatient behavioral health care to patients
  • Provide coverage of integrated behavioral health consultation
  • Provide care for patients with presenting symptoms such as behavioral problems, school and learning problems, trauma exposure, and symptomology, attention problems, anxiety, depression, as well as others
  • Has training in and can implement behavioral health interventions such as individual psychotherapy, behavior modification techniques, trauma-informed care, family therapy, group therapy, and crisis intervention
  • Conduct clinical intake assessments and appropriate diagnosis. Issues and scores scales and measures to evaluate functioning and for diagnostic clarification
  • Provide case management and advocacy
  • Consult and collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure services are integrated into patient treatment

Requirements:

  • LCSW required
  • Experience providing therapy to children, working on a multidisciplinary team, experience with trauma-informed care, chronically ill children are highly desirable
  • CPR required: Only certifications issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross will be accepted
  • Flu vaccination required
  • Spanish speaking preferred
