Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse-Mental Health to join our team at Ventura County Behavioral Health. As a mental health nursing professional, you will deliver high-quality care and services to individuals struggling with mental illness and substance use issues.

About the Role:
  • Implement evidence-based nursing practices, including assessment, planning, implementation of care, and evaluation of patient responses.
  • Provide individualized counseling, lead group counseling sessions, and conduct family conferences to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Administer medications safely and effectively, monitoring their use and side effects.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and patient charts, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements:
  • A current, valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California.
  • A current, valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification by first day of employment.
  • A valid California driver's license by first day of employment.
  • At least one year of full-time professional registered nursing experience providing direct patient care in a mental health setting.
Working Conditions:

Duties are performed in various settings, including inpatient or outpatient facilities, and may require field work in patient homes. A reliable vehicle for transportation is required.
