Job Title: Class A CDL Driver

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class A CDL driver to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a Class A CDL driver, you will be responsible for delivering and unloading food and food-related products to customers in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a tractor-trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver and unload food and food-related products to customers.
  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally to ensure questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections, to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required, and follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies.
  • Unload products from the trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and perform damage control checks on items.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures, collect money (cash or checks) where required, and load customer returns onto the trailer.
Requirements:
  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout the shift.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of foodservice distribution industry experience.
  • 1+ years of CMV driving experience.
  • Onboard computer and electronic log system experience (i.e., PeopleNet).
  • Hand-held point of delivery scanning system experience (i.e., POD).
  • Customer service-related work experience.
