Key Responsibilities:
As the Kitchen Supervisor, you will oversee MOC volunteers within the kitchen environment, ensuring adherence to safety and food sanitation protocols. You will be responsible for organizing the portioning of daily menu desserts and the packaging of cold packs, while maintaining regular communication with the Catering Kitchen Manager(s).
Supervision and Sanitation:
The Kitchen Supervisor is tasked with ensuring that MOC volunteers and Operation ABLE staff comply with all Board of Health sanitation regulations and program standards, including daily sign-in procedures. You will participate in the annual EOEA sanitation training conducted by the Nutrition Program Coordinator.
Daily tasks will be assigned to Operation ABLE staff and MOC volunteers, with an emphasis on completing these tasks according to established schedules. You will also report any concerns regarding staff, volunteers, or food safety and sanitation to your supervisor.
Organizing Dessert Portioning and Cold Pack Packaging:
You will set up portioning stations for daily, supper, and weekend cold packs, working alongside Operation ABLE staff and MOC volunteers, or autonomously as needed, following the cold pack matrix for the respective weekday.
Supervising Frozen Meal Packaging:
Daily check-ins with the Catering Kitchen Manager(s) will be essential to assist with additional tasks, which may include wrapping pans and portioning desserts for congregate meals.
