Position Overview
The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in the development and maintenance of the company's financial reporting packages. This position involves conducting comprehensive financial analyses, variance assessments, and participating in the budgeting and forecasting processes on a quarterly and annual basis. You will collaborate closely with business unit leaders, including the CFO, VP of Operations, and EVP of Sales, to manage P&L and drive financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with management and various departments to deliver insightful financial and business analyses that enhance operational outcomes.
2. Assist in formulating and executing quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting initiatives.
3. Prepare monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP, and perform various account reconciliations, including COGS/Sales tie-outs and inventory journal entries.
4. Lead the CAPEX planning and analysis, overseeing the administration and evaluation of diverse CAPEX requests.
5. Provide financial oversight to support the operations team in managing departmental budgets.
6. Partner with different departments to ascertain their reporting requirements, creating streamlined reports and dashboards to facilitate informed business decisions.
7. Drive business enhancements through the utilization of metrics and KPIs.
8. Become a subject matter expert in NetSuite ERP for the Finance team, providing training to other team members as necessary.
9. Assist in the month-end closing process by implementing best practices and leveraging technology for improved visibility into departmental and customer profitability.
10. Analyze customer program deductions to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
11. Support the Controller during year-end audits by providing necessary financial reviews and analyses.
12. Develop standard costs and monitor purchase price variances, tracking cost savings against budgets and previous years to identify opportunities and trends.
13. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2 to 5 years of experience in Finance or Accounting, with a preference for at least 2 years in a manufacturing setting.
- A degree in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
- Experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems is advantageous.
- Demonstrated autonomy in decision-making, effective workload prioritization, and project management capabilities.
- Strong teamwork and relationship-building skills, along with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with all organizational levels.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Capacity to collaborate with teams across all organizational levels.
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and demands through analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint; experience in financial modeling is a plus.
