Job Overview

Position: Full Time Certified Healthcare Assistant

Classification: Non-exempt

Role Summary: The Certified Healthcare Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional medical services to patients. Responsibilities encompass preparing examination areas and aiding physicians during medical procedures; getting patients ready for evaluations; accurately documenting patient information including medical history, triage details, and managing patient inquiries in accordance with state regulations governing the medical assistant's scope of practice; maintaining cleanliness and organization of examination rooms; sterilizing medical instruments; and collecting specimens for laboratory analysis. Under the direction of healthcare professionals, the assistant is also tasked with securing necessary HMO referral authorizations. Continuous education and participation in training sessions are expected.

Physical Demands: The role requires good physical stamina to handle the demands of a dynamic work environment. The Certified Healthcare Assistant must be capable of prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Proficient manual dexterity, along with adequate vision and hearing, is essential for daily tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Registered Medical Assistant certification
  • CPR certification

  • Ability to assist in various medical procedures including sigmoidoscopy, minor surgical interventions, ear lavage, catheterization, electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, vision assessments, urinalysis, and pulmonary function tests.
