Overview

NaphCare is a leading provider of quality healthcare in the correctional industry, delivering high-quality services to correctional facilities across the nation for over 35 years.

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to join our team at the Pasco County Jail in Land O Lakes, FL.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with direct patient care procedures, including obtaining patient history, taking vital signs, and preparing charts.
  • Perform routine procedures under established protocols, such as phlebotomy, EKGs, dressing changes, and wound cultures.
  • Provide routine clinical tasks, including taking and documenting vital signs, height and weight, assisting with PPDs and EKGs, and assisting with patient hygiene, ambulation, and dressing changes.
  • Administer medications to patients in accordance with doctor's orders, state regulations, and company policy.
  • Observe patients for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences and report immediately to the Charge Nurse.
  • Ensure sound infection control practices in the management and delivery of patient care, medications, and/or treatments.
  • Perform medication cart audits and assist in maintaining the medication cart and medication room in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Respond to all patient needs and/or requests for care promptly and provide or obtain assistance as necessary.
  • Complete all required documentation, such as medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, medication refusal reports, and behavioral documentation as requested and required in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Current Certification as Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medication Technician in FL.
  • Normal physical requirements, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting, squatting, etc.
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Valid CPR Card.
