Job Summary

The Department of Health Sciences and Human Performance at the University of Tampa invites applications for part-time instructors in health sciences, personal health, nutrition, or allied health. As a part-time instructor, you will be responsible for teaching one or more course sections, meeting 2-4 hours per week for a semester. The course textbook is selected in consultation with the full-time health sciences and human performance faculty.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach and engage students in the classroom, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist students in and out of the classroom, providing individualized support and guidance.
  • Create syllabi for students each semester, using learning outcome guidelines provided by the department.
  • Provide meeting time for students as needed, ensuring their academic success.
  • Administer and grade examinations and assignments, maintaining academic integrity.
  • Manage online or paper grading systems, ensuring accurate and timely feedback.
  • Adhere to all applicable department, college, and university policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in health sciences, exercise sciences, or a related field is required; a Doctorate is preferred.
  • Previous experience in nutritional and/or personal health programming, community health, public health, or an allied health profession is preferred.
  • Previous teaching experience in nutritional and/or personal health programming, community health, public health, or an allied health profession is preferred.
