Restaurant Chef Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant Chef to join our culinary team at Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. As a Restaurant Chef, you will be responsible for leading the planning and execution of daily food production, preparation, and presentation in a safe and sanitary work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the culinary team in creating and implementing seasonal menus and special menus
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to exceed guest expectations
  • Train and mentor the culinary and operations team on menu and daily specials
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of the kitchen and make recommendations for corrections, repairs, and improvements
  • Manage costs related to the restaurant and analyze and control costs to achieve a profitable operation
  • Work with the culinary team to ensure prep sheets are updated and being properly used daily
  • Guide the nightly cleaning of all kitchen areas and follow up with the pm stewarding crew to ensure the dish area is clean and organized for the following day's service

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a chef in a high-volume professional kitchen with a leadership capacity
  • Full knowledge of the state's health codes and the eco sure food safety and health report
  • Active Food handler's certification (the property will provide training as needed)
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Desire to exceed expectations and an energetic personality
