We are seeking a highly skilled Child Life Specialist to join our team at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital. As a Child Life Specialist, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing a comprehensive Child Life program that addresses the emotional and developmental needs of hospitalized children, adolescents, and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a Child Life program that promotes the emotional and developmental well-being of hospitalized children and their families.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, nursing, social service, Chaplaincy, and Volunteer Services staff, to provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic activities.
- Design and lead therapeutic activities that cater to the diverse needs of children and families, including play therapy, education, and support groups.
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized plans to address the unique needs of each child and family.
- Provide education and support to families on coping strategies, stress management, and navigating the healthcare system.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the Child Life program and promote best practices.
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Development, Recreational Therapy, or Elementary Education.
- National Certified Child Life Specialist certification within one year of hire.
