Job Description

Base-2 Solutions, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Systems Engineering group, you will be responsible for analyzing user requirements, developing system requirements specifications, and leading design and development activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze user requirements and develop system requirements specifications
  • Lead design and development activities for complex systems
  • Guide users in formulating requirements and advise on alternative approaches
  • Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical leadership for system integration
  • Develop technical documentation and system architecture and design documentation
  • Guide system development and implementation planning
  • Interact with government agencies and senior executives
Requirements
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as an SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Preferred Skills
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes installation and management
  • Experience with large OpenSearch installations
  • Experience troubleshooting distributed applications
  • Basic NiFi administration
  • Experience with Salt for configuration management
  • Experience with Helm charts
  • Basic git experience
  • Influx/Prometheus/Grafana experience
  • Experience with Kafka distributed event store and stream processing platform
  • Ceph storage platform
Capabilities
  • Contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation
  • Manage system requirements and derived requirements
  • Assist with developing system requirements and functional requirements
  • Coordinate the resolution of action items from Configuration Control Board meetings
  • Participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities
  • Develop system engineering documentation
  • Participate in interface definition, design, and changes to the configuration
  • Allocate real-time process budgets and error budgets
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements
  • Generate alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions
  • Define the methods, processes, and evaluation criteria for verifying systems against their requirements
  • Develop a system design solution that satisfies system requirements
  • Develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services
  • Review and provide input to program and contract work breakdown structure
