Job Summary

The Chief Operating Officer is an exempt role that oversees the day-to-day operations of the University Co-op's business. This includes ensuring that operations are consistently aligned with the company's objectives, leading and managing a high-performance team, and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the University Co-op
  • Assess and manage the principal risks of the organization's business operations
  • Build and manage an organizational structure that effectively responds to the evolving needs of the business
  • Encourage and provide mentoring and effective leadership to maintain effective work relationships and a high-performance management team
  • Motivate the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, and business goals and objectives
  • Design and implement business strategies, plans, and procedures
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
  • Ensure that functional teams have adequate governance processes in place
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, or Finance
  • Minimum three years of experience leading operations
  • Business planning, finance, and project management skills
Work Environment

The University Co-op is a well-lighted, heated, and air-conditioned indoor retail environment. The role may require occasional travel to industry conferences.
