Job Title: Patient / Donor Counseling Specialist

At Versiti Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Patient / Donor Counseling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our donors and patients.

Job Summary:

The Patient / Donor Counseling Specialist will be responsible for managing donor eligibility status, performing processes related to health history deferrals, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of donor information. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel donors regarding infectious disease testing results and health history deferrals
  • Process daily health history deferrals and deferrals stemming from recruitment, website, donor calls, and ineligible appointment reports
  • Initiate and complete post-donation-information cases resulting from daily health history deferrals, donor callbacks, or other sources
  • Perform duties related to abnormal test findings, including monitoring and updating deferrals, ordering additional tests, and entering reason comments
  • Request testing and perform reentry of donor with prior non-confirmed test results when eligible
  • Perform duties related to donor incident follow-up, including contacting donors, advising on suitable follow-up, and entering data into appropriate software

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in science, allied health field, nursing, or medical technology required
  • 1-3 years of experience in a health-related field working with donors/patients/clients required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to document events using medical terminology
  • Ability to apply judgment to detailed written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving variables in work
