Truck Driver

This position requires the ability to drive a delivery truck to customer locations throughout Southern California. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities- Drive a delivery truck to customer locations, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles as required, using proper lifting techniques to avoid injury.
- Inspect vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Follow safety procedures for transporting goods, including the inspection of loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
- Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers as necessary.
- Read and interpret maps to determine vehicle routes, ensuring the most efficient delivery schedule.
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicle, and take necessary steps to rectify the situation.
- Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
- Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes to ensure timely delivery.
- Operate equipment, such as truck cab computer, cellular phones, driver cameras, GPS equipment to exchange necessary information with bases, supervisor or other drivers.
- Load or unload trucks or help other with loading or unloading, using loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.
- Maintain proficiency in all organizational safe working policies and practices, adhering to company policies and work requirements.
- The ability to read, write, understand, and relay, written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as calculators, or scanners.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Knowledgeable about company's products and services, and customer-related policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- Must be in adequate physical condition to perform requirements such as mental, physical and manual dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely according to all Company, Local, State, and Federal regulations and requirements.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Ability to push/pull up to 75 pounds regularly.
- Must wear prescribed personal protective equipment when handling material or operating equipment.
- Successfully pass a drug test as requested, a physical capacity assessment, a background and motor vehicle check.
- Must maintain a valid commercial driver's license and driving record that meets the organization safe driving standards.
