Nursing Assistant Instructor Job Description

CiTi BOCES is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a Nursing Assistant Instructor. This role requires a strong background in nursing principles and practices, as well as excellent instructional and classroom management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Development and Instruction: Develop and implement a high-quality Nursing Assistant curriculum that meets New York State Education Department (NYSED) standards. Deliver engaging and hands-on instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
  • Student Supervision and Support: Assess student learning and skills acquisition, providing documentation in our student management system. Monitor, evaluate, and report student progress, offering constructive feedback and additional support as needed.
  • Clinical Coordination: Collaborate with other program staff to supervise clinical rotations. Maintain strong relationships with clinical partners, ensuring placements meet educational and regulatory standards.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure program compliance with NYSED, New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), and other relevant regulatory bodies. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and clinical hours.
Qualifications:
  • NYS Licensure - RN
  • NYS Teacher's certification- CTE Nurses Assisting (or ability & willingness to obtain)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or Education preferred
  • Certified CPR Instructor
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with 2 years in geriatric care
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures
  • Excellent instructional and classroom management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement a curriculum that meets educational standards
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
