Overview
Texas Oncology is a leading provider of oncology and hematology care in the Southwest, seeking a full-time Clinical Medical Physicist to join their team of radiation oncology centers. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cancer care to patients in the Denton, TX area.
Facilities and Equipment
The radiation oncology centers are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including six Varian linacs, three Nucletron micorSelectron HDRs, two Nucletron Flexitron HDRs, three GE CTs, two PET/CTs, and two mobile PET/CTs. The team collaborates through a shared database and uses Eclipse treatment planning, Rad Calc 2nd check program, Profiler, MapCheck3, SNC Routine, and 3D scanning system.
The Team
The fully staffed region consists of five board-certified radiation oncologists, eight ABR-certified physicists, six certified medical dosimetrists, thirteen radiation therapists, and five chief therapists. As an integral part of the team, you will have the opportunity to work with other network physicists and participate in vendor webinars, journal clubs, and committees.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality cancer care to patients in the Denton, TX area
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement treatment plans
- Work with state-of-the-art technology, including Varian linacs and Eclipse treatment planning
- Participate in vendor webinars, journal clubs, and committees
Qualifications
- CAMPEP-accredited residency program in medical physics
- Valid Texas Medical Board license or board eligible
- American Board of Radiology certification or board eligible
- Preferred two years of experience as a certified medical physicist
- Working knowledge of SRS, SBRT, and HDR
- Experience with Varian linear accelerators and Eclipse Planning system
Candidate will primarily work at the Denton, TX location and provide support to other POD sites as needed.
