Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Clerk to join our team at the Columbia County Health Department. As a Senior Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, performing clerical and cashier duties, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide optimal customer service to diverse populations, including answering multi-line phone systems and routing calls appropriately.
  • Perform moderately complex clerical and cashier duties, such as data entry, collecting monies, issuing receipts, and billing services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including manual and electronic health records, in accordance with DOH policies and procedures.
  • Collect fees, process charges, and prepare fiscal reports for submission to the supervisor.
  • Operate office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, and laminators, and proficiently utilize computer systems and software.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and provide high-quality customer service.
  • Skilled in basic mathematics and able to maintain and balance cash drawers.
  • Valid Florida Driver License and motor vehicle required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Billing/coding experience.
  • Bilingual.
