Role Summary:

As a key leader in production, you will oversee the optimal utilization of personnel, materials, and equipment to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the training, development, and assessment of hourly team members.
  2. Contribute to the formation of high-performing teams.
  3. Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) initiatives and provide support for launch and pilot activities in designated areas.
  4. Ensure production cost targets are met while adhering to quality standards.
  5. Maintain awareness of quality benchmarks, communicate departmental quality objectives, and utilize resources to address quality challenges.
  6. Foster positive working relationships with employees, union representatives, and management.
  7. Understand and enforce the National and Local Agreements with the United Auto Workers Union.
  8. Implement systems to prevent the recurrence of known issues.
  9. Encourage safe work practices and meet objectives related to ergonomics, health, safety, and cleanliness.
  10. Inspire, train, and develop employees to perform their roles effectively using standardized methods.
  11. Ensure team members receive sufficient Job Instruction Training (JIT).
  12. Achieve production schedules and product specifications by applying lean manufacturing principles with a focus on reducing variation, controlling costs, and enhancing productivity.
  13. Mentor and guide Group Leaders in fulfilling these responsibilities.

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of mechanical experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Preferred background in automotive dealerships or mechanic shops.
  • Flexibility to work extended and non-standard hours as needed to resolve issues.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, typing, email).
  • Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts.
