Job Description:

As a Production Group Leader, you will be responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment to drive production efficiency and quality. You will participate in the training, development, and evaluation of hourly team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.

You will also participate in the development of highly effective teams by fostering a culture of collaboration, communication, and continuous improvement. You will lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas.

You will meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintain quality requirements by implementing and following systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues. You will promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety, and housekeeping.

You will motivate, train, and develop employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. You will ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training) and achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements.

You will coach, teach, counsel, and mentor Group Leaders in these responsibilities. Additional requirements include 2-3 years of mechanic experience, 3-5 years in manufacturing, and preferred experience in auto dealership or mechanic shop.

You will also be required to be flexible and at times work extended and non-core hours to ensure issues are worked to resolution. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word, typing, and email, is also required. You must be willing to work weekends and rotating shifts.
